SLARI exists to provide support, training and networking opportunities for all those associated with libraries in schools in the Republic of Ireland. We work to raise the profile of libraries and library staff in schools. SLARI’s full policy statement is available here. Through our programme of events, which include the November Conference and the Spring Seminar & AGM, members meet to share information, ideas and keep abreast of good practice.
Becoming a SLARI Member:
SLARI is a branch of the SLA (School Library Association). By joining the SLA you are automatically a member of SLARI. See the SLA Membership page. New members can join here OR at a SLARI Conference. Existing members of SLARI renew their membership using the invoice sent to them by the SLA. Membership entitles you to 4 copies of year of the periodical The School Librarian. This has articles and information about every aspect of school libraries and is a fantastic resource.
“Going home from a SLARI event I feel fuelled up and enthusiastic about some new idea and convinced about the value of what we do as school librarians.”
Pat Cowley – school librarian
